2 arrested after Prineville woman backs into deputies vehicle

A pair of Prineville residents were arrested after attempting to elude a Crook County Sheriff’s Deputy. The incident began when 26-year-old Shelly Wickman ran a stop sign at Gerke Road and the Madras Highway. The car went out of control spinning on the highway then ran into a ditch blocked by a fence. Wickman then backed up into the patrol vehicle. The officer got Wickman to shut off the car, and held her and her passenger, 22-year-old Danjero Shetler at gunpoint until other officers arrived. She was charged with attempting to elude and reckless driving and lodged in the Jefferson County Jail. Shetler was taken to jail on a parole and probation detainer.
